As many of you know, I am expecting my second child the end of May. As our family is growing, I have been shifting some of the spaces in our home to accommodate this growth. Our current guest room will become Scarlett's new space, her current bedroom will be the new nursery for our little man, and our bonus room upstairs will be partly used to accommodate guests. While transitioning these spaces, I have done some purging (Spring is an excellent time of year for this!), and also rediscovered some lost treasures in my home- One of those treasures is "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. With good reason, this book has become a staple on a friend, Kim's reading list for her Yoga teacher training since I took it, but because of her love for the book, I wound up reading it not long after my 200 hour training. Since then, I speak a lot to this book when talking with friends, Yoga students, and clients. I even gave away the first copy I had to someone I felt needed it more!
If you're not familiar with The Four Agreements, I strongly suggest you read it. It is written in a way that I believe can resonate with a person of any background or culture- These teachings are valuable tools for anyone's life! There is also a book by Don Miguel Ruiz, The Fifth Agreement which I own, but have yet to read. I'll happily share about it once I do read it. Truthfully, I am not reading as much as I once was since having babes. Instead of "nap when the baby naps", read when the baby naps?? Ha! If you've read The Four Agreements or are familiar with what they are, how do you apply them to your life? Do you catch yourself using one agreement more or easier than the others, and which one is the hardest for you to utilize? Would love to hear how you apply these teachings as I'm always willing to learn from my audience! Much Love and may you all be well! CB I've been sharing an agreement each Friday via my Instagram over the last few weeks.
